Dempsey Ventures is pleased to announce the merger of Salter Labs and SunMed Holdings. Salter Labs, based out of Lake Forest, IL., manufactures respiratory, anesthesia, and critical care products for the hospital and home care markets. The merger will provide both companies the ability to better serve customers with a broader product portfolio and global manufacturing.
The combined company will have complementary manufacturing and distribution facilities in Asia, Mexico and the United States as well as a distribution center in Europe that will give it an even stronger presence in the respiratory and anesthesia markets it serves.
The business will be headquartered at SunMed’s manufacturing and distribution facility in Grand Rapids, MI and has over 1,700 employees world-wide.
This is Dempsey Ventures seventh investment in the anesthesia/respiratory space. It previously purchased SunMed, Ventlab, Ethox and Omega Medical and combined them to create SunMed Holdings. It purchased Maxtec’s CO2 indicator product lines in 2019 and Dempsey purchased Mainline Medical, a catalog medical sales business, in 2018. Salter Labs has grown through acquisitions of product lines from Beevers Medical Supply, Zefon, IntuBrite, InnoMed Technologies and Parker Medical.
